AWARENESS CAMPS

Abject poverty and lack of livelihood accentuate the trafficking problem in the rural districts of Bengal, which the traffickers cash in to trap minor girls luring them with false marriage promises and that of lucrative job opportunities in the city.

Awareness camps are periodically conducted to sensitize children in Kolkata’s schools, and families and communities living in Bengal’s villages to the imminent dangers of trafficking and child abuse. The communities are taught on methods and modes of trafficking, on how to keep children safe and ways to access law enforcement.
